Here's the Jason Sudeikis & Flat Meredith story...I blogged this on my family reunion blog so I just cut and pasted it in to this blog...so a few items are redundant but it made this whole thing easier.
We have exciting 4th grade news at our house, it's very fun and I have to share. Meredith is participating in a "flat person project". Basically Meredith draws a picture of herself and calls it "Flat Meredith". She had to send it off to one person...they take a photo and send it all back. Meredith chose to send Flat Meredith to her Grandpa in Florida so she could have her flat self's photo taken at the beach...her favorite place to visit. Then Meredith also had an idea...to send it to a celebrity to see if they would participate. First she thought of Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas...but then she changed her mind and chose Jason Sudeikis from Saturday Night Live (SNL), he also does guest appearances on 30 Rock. SNL is Meredith's favorite show. And Jason S. is her favorite comedian on the show...she loves his Joe Biden impression. Yea, yea...it's not the best family show but it beats the Disney Channel or Nickelodeon any day! Don't worry we watch it with her and censor the show. I started watching SNL when I was in 2nd grade...we won't talk about how long ago that was but it was the year SNL started. And Meredith started watching when she rolled into 2nd grade as well. Needless to say...she has a good sense of humor and a good working knowledge of politics. Jason S. is a graduate of her school and his parents are members of our parish...she figured he was her best shot. I happen to know a computer guru that does computer and security system work at the crime lab. He went to the same high school as Jason S. and he worked at the same grocery store sacking groceries in high school. This guy has a friend that was in Jason's class and still talks to him. So the mutual friend was contacted and offered to hand deliver Flat Meredith to Jason S. She also included a letter to Jason and a couple of photos from Halloween 2008...she went dressed as Tina Fey as Sarah Palin. I told you she has a good sense of humor and knowledge of politics. How did Meredith get interested in politics and how does she know Joe Biden? She watched the debates during the election...along with SNL political skits. She even knows Joe Biden when she sees him in person on the street. He was in town this summer to promote a stimulus highway project...Joe's standing in a parking lot and Meredith's babysitter drives Meredith and 3 other kids by in an SUV...Meredith starts yelling...hea its Joe Biden...none of the other kids know him but she informs them he's the VP of the United States. She came home and told me she couldn't believe the other kids didn't know who Joe Biden was. I told her she's probably the only 9 year old that recognizes him.

So this past week during Thanksgiving...Flat Meredith met up with Jason S. He knew this was all going on before he arrived and I was told he was excited and happy to help out Meredith. He was even thinking about trying to bring the fake Joe Biden teeth with him for the photo. Jason liked Flat Meredith but what he really liked were the photos of her dressed as Tina Fey as Sarah Palin. He took photos of the Halloween pics with his iPhone and emailed them to Tina Fey. Needless to say Meredith is over the moon. I cut and pasted the email I rec'd from the mutual friend and I posted some Flat Meredith pictures along with photos of her now infamous Halloween Costume.
From the email...
"Here is Jason with his new friend Flat Meredith.
He got the biggest kick out of this. He actually laughed
out loud at her halloween pics. When I told him that she
was dressed as Tina Fey as Sarah Palin he thought it was one
of the funniest things he had ever heard. He thought it
was so funny, in fact, that he immediately took pictures of
the photos on his iPhone and emailed them to Tina Fey. So
tell Meredith that Tina has seen her costume and thought it
was hilarious.
This may be a funny story that Meredith can tell on a talk show when she's famous!?"

Thanks to Geoff, Ben, & Jason for making a 4th grader's year!!
